Frequently Asked Questions
Everything You Need to Know
About the Assessment
The full assessment process takes 3-3.5 hours across 2 sessions, plus a 60-minute feedback session. From booking to receiving your report typically takes 4-6 weeks.
Absolutely. The assessment will determine whether ADHD/Autism explains your experiences, or if something else might be at play. You don't need to be certain before booking.
Not everyone who comes for assessment meets diagnostic criteria, and that's okay. You'll still receive a comprehensive report explaining your profile, your strengths and challenges, and recommendations for support. Understanding yourself better has value regardless of diagnosis.
Yes. Some people have been prescribed medication without formal diagnosis, or they want a second opinion. We can assess you whether you're currently medicated or not.
If you were diagnosed as a child but never received a formal report, or if you want updated documentation for adult life, we can provide a comprehensive reassessment.

We can provide detailed receipts and reports that you can submit to your insurance provider. Please check with your insurer regarding mental health assessment coverage. Many insurers cover ADHD/Autism assessments under mental health benefits.
You can cancel or reschedule with 48 hours' notice without penalty (your deposit remains valid for 6 months). Cancellations within 48 hours forfeit the £200 deposit. No-shows forfeit full payment.
Yes! All assessments can be split into 3 equal monthly payments. You pay £200 deposit to book, then remaining balance is split over 2 additional payments before your final session.
Assessments are conducted via secure video call (available UK-wide) and soon in-person at our Sheffield consulting rooms. You can choose your preferred format when booking.
If you receive an ADHD diagnosis and want to explore medication, we can prescribe and monitor initial medication trials. For autism, we'll provide recommendations for therapies, accommodations, and support services. We can also refer you to specialists for ongoing support.
Yes, we can provide letters explaining your diagnosis and recommended accommodations for employers or educational institutions. These are included in your assessment package.
Your diagnostic report is valid indefinitely. ADHD and Autism are lifelong conditions, so once diagnosed, you remain diagnosed. You can use your report for employment accommodations, benefits applications, or other needs throughout your life.
About ADHD & Autism
Yes, research shows that 40-70% of autistic people also have ADHD. They can co-occur. If there's uncertainty, we can conduct a combined assessment to explore both.
This is one of the most common concerns, especially for adults who've internalized years of criticism. If you're worried you're 'just lazy,' that itself suggests something deeper is going on. Assessment can provide clarity either way.
Absolutely. ADHD in women often presents differently than in men (less hyperactivity, more internal restlessness and executive dysfunction) and is frequently missed or misdiagnosed as anxiety or depression. We have specific expertise in assessing ADHD in women.
No. In fact, many people (especially women, autistic people, and those from minority backgrounds) develop masking strategies. Part of our assessment is recognizing these compensatory strategies and understanding the effort they require. Masking doesn't mean you don't have ADHD/Autism - it often indicates significant struggles beneath the surface.
Yes! ADHD has three presentations: predominantly inattentive (no significant hyperactivity), predominantly hyperactive-impulsive, and the combined type. Many adults, especially women, have inattentive type ADHD.
